Admission:
The students are selected for admission into
various courses through their academic records as well as through special
entrance test. The reservation policy of the state and the central government is
strictly followed in admitting students in various courses.
Undergraduate Arts:

Compulsory Subjects: English, MIL (Assamese),&
Environmental Studies.

Optional Core Subjects: English, Assamese,
Economics, Political Science, History, Education, Advance
Assamese and Sociology.

Major Subjects: English, Assamese, Economics,
Education, Political Science, History, Sociology.
Undergraduate Commerce:

Compulsory Subjects:
English, MIL
(Assamese or Alt. English), Business Economics, Accountancy -I, Business
Organization and Management, Business Laws, Accountancy-II, and Business
Finance, Entrepreneurship, Auditing & Business Taxation.

Optional Subjects:
Economic
Environment of Business, Computer Application in Business.

Major Subjects:
Accountancy. (Student offering Major in
Accountancy shall have to offer any four paper from the general course
including English & MIL (but excluding Accountancy –I & Accountancy –II of the
General course). Excluding English and MIL, the Major in Accountancy has the
following nine papers--.
Advance
Accountancy: - Management Accountancy, -Public Finance,- Company Accounts,-
Indian Financial System,- Financial Management,- Cost Accountancy,- Auditing,-
Direct Tax Law and Practice.
Higher Secondary .(Arts)

English & Assamese.

English, Alternative English, Assamese, Economics, Education, Political
Science, History, Advance Assamese and Sociology.
Higher Secondary (Commerce)

groups—
Group-(A): Economics, Mathematics,
Insurance, Salesmanship and Advertising.
Group-(B): Commercial Arithmetic &
Elements of Statistics, Computer Science and Application, Mathematics.
(Note: A student offering Computer Science
& Application must offer Mathematics)
Self Financing Courses:
Cutting & Sewing, Computer Basic & DTP.
Career Oriented Courses:
Spoken English, Beauty Care.
